Proven Conversions;

Many locomotives (especially steam) have been produced over the years that are fine models that run well short of their potential. Most of these were produced before can motors were available and for many the upgrade is fairly obvious (measure the space available and compare to the motor sizes and decide on the biggest that will fit). Our diagrams can be recopied to exact size for trial fitting.  Many of the smaller 0-6-0s to small 2-8-0s are not as obvious because the frame or boiler firebox are so narrow that some innovative engineering may be required. Read all the example conversions as you may find an idea that will help on your conversion.

     Many people are reluctant to modify their brass locomotives, but a few hours and $50 worth of parts can make some $300 - $500 locomotives run twice as well. The benefits far out weigh the costs and the work involved.

        On this set of pages we will try to compile a set of recommendations for specific locomotives. If you do a conversion that you think is good, please submit it to us and we will list it with your name. Conversions not otherwise credited are the work of Wayne "Loco Doc" Weiss
